The swimming pool forms part of the large Olympic complex.

The installation follows pool operators' concern that the tiles around the pool and changing room floors were slippery when wet, especially when large numbers of people were using the facility.

Having been advised to install Heronrib matting, this has subsequently been laid around the side of the pool and in the changing rooms themselves.

Heronrib features an embossed slip resistant surface with impregnated anti-bacterial and anti-fungal additives and is specially designed to be a high performance solution for sports and leisure facilities, especially in wet areas such as external walkways, changing rooms and around swimming pools.

Manufactured from hardwearing non-porous vinyl with an open grid construction, it features an overall height of 10mm and raised profile underbars, which help water to drain away easily in all directions and to straddle pooling water.

The matting, available in several colours, is supplied in 10m long rolls and widths of 50cm, 1m and 1.22m.
